Here’s a lovely little film from the environmentally conscious clothing company Patagonia. It’s called Worn Wear and tells the tales of different customers who have worn and repaired their Patagonia clothing. It’s nice to see a clothing company promoting repairing what you have rather than buying something new. As usual with Patagonia, it’s shot beautifully.
The purpose of this test was to see what effect 3cohosting’s managed pro web hosting would have on a normal WordPress install.
For the speed test I used webpagetest.org, it has an impressive array of features and you can test your site from multiple locations worldwide. It even lets you choose which browser you’d like to use for the testing.
In 2007 Colin Beavan along with his wife, 2 year old daughter and dog decided to embark upon an eco experiment. Their aim was to live a year without making any net impact to the environment. This basically meant creating no rubbish, no carbon emissions, putting no toxins in the water (i.e. shampoo, detergent etc), using no lifts, no cars, no products in packaging, no TV, no toilet paper, they couldn’t buy any new items (clothes etc) and from the 6 month mark, use no electricity.
